Rural Clean Energy Economics and Community Engagement Study and Report

CETI worked with Ross Strategic and Industrial Economics, Inc. on a Rural Clean Energy Economics and Community Engagement Study and Report for the Washington State Department of Commerce.

The study investigates the opportunities and impacts of renewable energy development in rural communities throughout Washington and includes eight recommendations for the Legislature to consider in future clean energy policies, such as:

Strengthen local involvement in clean energy siting/project development to ensure that rural communities are informed and have a meaningful role in the decision-making process.
Safeguard and enhance the quality of life in rural communities as clean energy projects are developed.
Improve transparency in the planning, development, and operation of clean energy projects.

Jamie joined CETI in November 2023 as Communications Manager and leads all internal and external communications efforts, including the production of reports, webinars, newsletters, blogs, infographics, and development materials. She also tracks climate and clean energy policy in the four Northwest states. Jamie spent the past decade working for several nonprofit organizations on campaigns to address issues at the intersection of climate change and social justice on the local, state, and national levels. She has worked as a campaign manager, organizer, and communications specialist with the Sunrise Movement, Citizen’s Climate Lobby, Futurewise, and Disability Rights Washington.
