The Clean Energy Transition Institute (CETI) places a high priority on protecting your privacy. This policy explains the types of information the CETI websites collect and how this information is used. “Our Site” includes five domains: www.cleanenergytransition.orgwww.cleantransition.orgwww.cleanenergytransition.net, www.nznw.org; www.nwceatlas.org and other websites that may be created in the future linked to CETI’s purpose.

What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected

When people sign up to receive CETI e-communications or to donate to the organization, they provide contact information such as name and email address. We may use this information for specific, limited purposes as outlined below. You may choose to change your subscription preferences or "opt out", which will cease all communications from us, at anytime. This can either be done by emailing us at info@cleanenergytransition.org or by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ or ‘manage preferences’ at the bottom of any email you receive from us.

IP addresses

The Clean Energy Transition Institute uses IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our websites, and for metrics used to track website visitor traffic.

Cookies

Our websites uses "cookie" messages to help provide better services. They remind us who you are and your preferences for our website based on what you've done and told us before. The "cookie" is placed in your computer and is read when you come back to our website. Cookies let us take you to the information and features you are particularly interested in. They also let us track your usage of our websites, so we know which parts are most popular. You can instruct your web browser to reject or cancel cookies.

How Your Information May Be Used

We use your personal information to provide personalized service; to send you email alerts; to answer your requests; and to solicit contributions. We track aggregate anonymous data to see which content most interests our visitors and may share that anonymous data in grant or funder reports we write to assess our impact and how well we are achieving our mission. We also track anonymized individual session behavior (via Microsoft Clarity) to understand usability concerns.

Data Privacy

CETI will not under any circumstances provide, sell, or rent email addresses or any personal information we collect to anyone outside the organization.

External Links

Our websites includes links to external websites, which do not fall under our domains, and CETI is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external websites. Your use of any linked website is solely at your own risk.

Our Commitment to Our Donors (Donor Privacy Policy)

CETI adheres to the Donor Bill of Rights. We maintain the highest level of privacy concerning our donors’ contact information and donation history. This Donor Privacy Policy applies to all information that CETI receives, both online and offline, on any platform, as well as any electronic, written, or verbal communications.

To the extent any donations are processed through a third-party service provider, our donors’ information will only be used for purposes necessary to process the donation.  

CETI will never sell or trade our donors’ personal information with any other entity.

All contact information is used for internal purposes only and never published.  

Donor names are published in CETI’s annual report and on our website’s “Funding” page. Donors may request to remain anonymous.

We occasionally send mail to our donors, but we do not intend to send any unwanted mail. To be removed from the CETI mailing list, please email us.

Modifications

We may amend this privacy policy from time to time.  We maintain the option to modify this privacy at any time by electronic notice posted on our website. Your continued use of our website after the date that such notices are posted will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms.
