Pathways to a Low-Carbon Future
Choreographing the shift from fossil fuel to clean energy is no simple task, but it is achievable, contrary to conventional wisdom. In fact, key barriers to the transition—cost-prohibitive renewable energy and technology for storing and transmitting energy—have fallen away rapidly of late.
This leaves the real impediments to confront: utility business models that do not reward energy efficiency or distributed energy but instead favor long-term capital investment in power plants that make money rate-basing returns over time; grid transmission and renewable energy integration challenges; as well as societal disbelief that the transition to clean energy is economically and technically viable.
Clean Energy Transition Institute is dedicated to demonstrating that a low-carbon future is not only technically achievable but also economically beneficial, as well as critically important to achieve for the survival of biodiversity as we know it on the planet.
