As we build out the electricity generation and the transmission infrastructure required to achieve a clean energy transition in the Northwest, we can avoid perpetuating past harms from fossil fuel development and ensure that renewable energy development provides benefits for host communities.

The CETI team presented the key findings from our Net-Zero Northwest Workforce State Analysis to individuals from all four Northwest states.

The Net-Zero Northwest (NZNW) Workforce State Analysis examines the jobs that would be created or displaced in the four Northwest states if the region were on the path to achieving net-zero emissions.

The Net-Zero Northwest (NZNW) Workforce State Analysis examines the jobs that would be created or displaced in the four Northwest states if the region were on the path to achieving net-zero emissions, as modeled in the NZNW Energy Pathways analysis, by subsector, industry, and occupation in the electricity, fuels, buildings, and transportation sectors.

Achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 in the Northwest will not be possible at the scale and pace that the climate crisis requires without significantly investing in equitably growing a clean energy workforce.
