Harvesting the Sun, the first installment in the Claiming Power series, features Jefferson and Clallam County businesses that have benefited from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Rural Energy for America (REAP) program.
One of 40 USDA programs that support rural American communities, the REAP program was designed to enable farmers, ranchers, and rural small businesses to benefit economically from renewable energy. In Harvesting the Sun, we hear from the following business owners who obtained REAP financing to install solar panels that have significantly reduced their energy bills:
