Founded in 2018, the Clean Energy Transition Institute (CETI) is an independent, nonpartisan nonprofit organization working to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy in the Northwest by advancing deep decarbonization strategies. We provide unbiased research and analysis to guide climate and energy policy and a neutral platform to help diverse stakeholders debate and resolve the trade-offs associated with deep decarbonization.

About the Position

As the CETI’s part-time Development and Administrative Assistant, you would provide operational and administrative support. The position is responsible for donor database maintenance; donor communication; event planning and execution; and administrative support. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Development Assistance: 45%

  • Assist Executive Director with all existing and prospective donor campaigns
  • Maintain donor records in Salesforce
  • Help develop and produce donor materials, such as Case Statement and Annual Report
  • Provide support for all donor appreciation events, including working with venues, catering, set-up, and clean up
  • Provide administrative support for filing online applications to foundations

Administrative: 30%

  • Help team keep all files current and organized on Dropbox
  • Data entry to support the organization as directed
  • Assist with move to office and office management in the fall
  • Perform other duties needed to ensure a smoothly functioning office and organization

Convening Events: 25%

  • Provide administrative support for virtual and in-person (when safe) meetings, events, and convenings
  • Identify and secure venues or organize online events
  • Develop and implement event marketing plans
  • Handle event registration
  • Assist with caterers, on-site and online logistics, and other day-of-event operations
  • Edit recordings of events, work with speakers to obtain materials for events

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with strong organizational and administrative skills, as well as excellent written communications skills. Successful candidates will be team players who are exceptionally well-organized and capable of multitasking and taking the initiative. Skills we seek include:

  • Mission-orientation, with an interest in addressing the climate crisis and working at a nonprofit organization
  • Experience managing an office or administering programs or projects
  • Experience running events, programs, clubs, or teams
  • Ability to create well-written documents/letters and a professional manner to communicate well with donors, funders, and the public orally and in writing
  • Report design or experience creating marketing materials a plus
  • Flexibility, ability to work under pressure and to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot administrative issues as they arise, problem-solve, change priorities quickly, and do what it takes to get the job done well
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in environmental science, economics, public relations, communications, business, or related field

Successful candidates will also have strong computer skills, with demonstrated competency in:

  • Data entry and database maintenance, Salesforce experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • SharePoint, OneDrive
  • Dropbox; Google Drive
  • Zoom and Teams
  • InDesign, photo sizing, and other report production skills a plus

Compensation

This is a part-time position that pays in the range of $21-25/hour, depending upon experience.
